I measure how drivers actually behave using roadside LiDAR trajectories, and use that behavior to calibrate microsimulation and evaluate safety and capacity in mixed traffic.

My Ph.D. dissertation, Integrating Roadside LiDAR-Based Behavioral Analysis with Microsimulation for Capacity and Safety Evaluation of Mixed Traffic, was defended in October 2026. Field data came from roadside LiDAR at five signalized intersections and one urban arterial in Lubbock, Texas.

Across six publications, my work covers surrogate safety indicators, LiDAR-based calibration of PTV VISSIM models, and LiDAR data processing for vehicle tracking and lane-level mapping.
