20-Intersection Roadside LiDAR Data Collection Program
A four-week field program collecting roadside LiDAR data at 20 Lubbock intersections, with drone video at every site to validate the data.

Problem
Research and dataset work needed LiDAR data from many intersections with different conditions, but the team had one LiDAR unit, limited vehicles and two collection days per week.
Approach
- Planned a four-week schedule with two collection days per week, two-person field teams and spare slots for weather delays.
- Recorded 15 minutes of drone video at each site to validate the LiDAR data.
- Selected sites to cover three dataset categories — high pedestrian volume, high traffic volume and high occlusion.
